美联社报道，意外发生在爱达荷州西部的芒廷霍姆空军基地(Mountain Home Air Force Base)航空展期间，两架飞机在表演时相撞，紧急救援人员随即出动。
协助规划航空展的爱达荷州银翼组织(Silver Wingsof Idaho)行销总监赛克斯(Kim Sykes)表示，4名机组员都已平安弹射，事故发生于基地外。她本人未目睹坠机经过，但有看到后来冒出的浓烟。
事发后，空军基地在社交媒体发文宣布进行封锁，并表示现场的应变小组已经展开调查。
多位目击者指出，两架飞机碰撞并坠毁。上传网络的影片可见4具降落伞在空中展开，飞机则在距离波伊西(Boise)约80公里的这座基地的附近坠落地面。
第366战斗机联队(366th Fighter Wing)公关办公室接听电话人员表示，目前无进一步资讯可供发布。
