为了这个世界佛教论坛，无锡市大张旗鼓掀起了一场“迎论坛、优环境、树形象”的运动，其中一个大手笔，便是将全市1702个便民亭棚车点全部拆除，造成数以千计的无锡草民无以谋生，甚至逼的吞药自杀。
论坛开幕式将于3月28日在无锡灵山梵宫举行
论坛闭幕式将于4月1日在台北巨蛋体育馆举行
灵山梵宫是灵山三期工程的主体工程，是无锡市重点工程和无锡市“十一五”重要旅游建设项目，这就是据说投资16亿元建造的灵山梵宫——
