2009年2月13日，继2008年3月4日百年一遇的特大暴风雪后，12日夜沈阳市再次遭遇暴风雪袭击。先雨后雪，加上突然降温，雪被覆盖冰床，积雪最深处超50厘米。到13日早晨，雪已停，风不止，道路难行，车速缓慢，行人步履艰难。狂风卷起积雪如烟，让人体会到东北春寒之料峭，仿佛从前几日的阳春回到了数九。

据辽辽宁省高速公路管理局监控指挥中心2009年2月13日8：13发布的信息显示，辽宁省内高速公路，已经悉数封闭，目前随除雪工作进展，会陆续开放部分路段。
