据法新社报道美国国家地质勘测局29日宣布，美国南加利福尼亚当地时间29日（周二）中午11时42分洛杉矶东部地区发生里氏5．4级地震，震中在洛杉矶市中心东南29英里处的Chino Hills，洛杉矶市的一些高楼发生剧烈摇晃，地震持续了大约20秒钟。目前尚无人员伤亡的报道。最初美国国家地质勘测局宣布，地震级数为5.8级，后修正为5.4级。
