目前对戒毒主要是靠药物和心理疏导相结合的方法帮戒毒者脱离毒瘾，也有通过手术来治疗，前几年广州有家医院率先通过阻断颅内“欲望神经”来达到治疗目的，据说，动了手术十个吸毒者复吸率只有两例，其他八个全都摆脱毒瘾回归正常生活，此种手术也可适用于烟瘾较大的患者。但这种通过开颅手术来治疗患者的毒瘾也不是说没有风险，但有些经过治疗的患者诉说：动了手术后任何欲望完全消失，包括夫妻间的性生活。

　强制戒毒一般需要三个月至半年进行脱毒康复。

　　他们最小的只有18岁，年龄最大的已经50多岁。这些生活在社会的边缘人，纹身刺青，自甘堕落，年少莽撞，缺乏社会经验，大多数是因为好奇而染上了毒瘾。

　戒毒所里一共有40多个吸毒女，她们大多是坐台小姐，大多还很年轻，大多文化水平不高，有的小学毕业就流入社会。
