难得一见：动物专家曝光“狮虎”珍贵交配照片

狮虎的体型比狮或虎都要大。原因是雌性狮及雄性虎会把控制生长的遗传基因传给后代。狮虎因为并非雄虎与雌狮的后代，缺少了这一条基因，所以生长不受控制。狮虎由出生起会不断生长，直至它的身体不能承受为止。因此“彪”字便成为了庞大的形容词之一，如“彪形大汉”。
