2007年3月12日，国内首个明星慈善公益榜在上海发布，同时，一台以“心怀感恩、快乐分享、共建和谐”为主题的颁奖盛典——首届《新娱乐慈善群星会》通过东方卫视向全球直播，香港演艺人协会主席曾志伟、著名影星赵薇、赵雅芝黄锦燊夫妇、伊能静、杨恭如、创作型歌手光良、羽泉、花儿乐队、林依轮、胡兵、韩雪、超女何洁、周笔畅、好男儿蒲巴甲、我型我秀选手薛之谦等五十多位明星相聚一堂。

侯佩岑、赵薇、伊能静、何润东、孙兴、光良、羽泉等众多明星，接过一个个亮晶晶的奖杯，当选2006年度“慈善之星”。

晚会共颁发了包括“2006年年度感动之星”、“最具活力、动力、魅力、创意、热心、爱心、奉献、关爱、人气”闪电之星、“最具影响力慈善之星”、“年度慈善贡献奖”、“2007年最期待闪电之星”在内的13个奖项。其中，“2006年年度感动之星”奖由观众提名、投票评选。

此外，“最具影响力慈善之星”影视明星赵薇捧走。“年度慈善贡献奖”被授予香港明星慈善活动中最为积极的组织者与参与者之一的曾志伟。
