As Mills himself describes: "During the academic year 1953–1954, Yang was a visitor to Brookhaven National Laboratory ... I was at Brookhaven also ... and was assigned to the same office as Yang. Yang, who has demonstrated on a number of occasions his generosity to physicists beginning their careers, told me about his idea of generalizing gauge invariance and we discussed it at some length ... I was able to contribute something to the discussions, especially with regard to the quantization procedures, and to a small degree in working out the formalism; however, the key ideas were Yang's."[4]
The absence of 习近平 and his proteges from the funeral of 杨振宁先生 reflects the fact that 杨振宁先生 had never fawned on nor bowed to the communist regime. This in turn implies that he went to China for the purpose of serving the country, instead of the regime or his own interests. He must have expressed some opinions or even criticisms that antagonized 习近平 who is ignorant yet arrogant, and fond of pointing out the direction for everything.
Even worse, the excessive ignorance of 习近平 culminates in his distain and aversion to prominent intellectuals, especially 杨振宁先生 who is commonly revered as the most preeminent Chinese scientist worldwide in modern era. His attitude eventually hindered communist officials at all ranks from attending the funeral.
