今年德州州长选举。德州州长没有任期限制，Greg Abbott要创记录竞选第四任期。共和党一贯鼓励term limit，没有任期限制象Abbott这样的conservative一般也会退位了。为什么还要竞选？国家特殊时期，选民希望他继续任职。一月份RNC自豪宣称现有创记录的一亿美元资金war chest，相反DNC现有1400万，欠债1700万。但是Abbott个人竞选资金现在就有一亿美元，the largest in the nation。这个筹款水平，而且主要来自州内，说明他受欢迎程度。Abbott党内无对手，手握这么多经费，11月中选对德州整个选票都是带动。我估计今年德州11月选举会红得一塌糊涂，这个state senate选区，肯定掰回来。

就知道左媒要拿TX State Senate-9 来说事。德州富裕选区，Trump赢了17个点。历任前共和党参议员都去德州政府任高职。现共和党参议员去年辞职任Chief Clerk for the Texas Comptroller's Office。因为是特别选举，没有党派初选。去年11月特别选举时，民主党候选人得票47%，两个共和党候选人得票分别37%和16%，如果只有一个候选人可能就赢了。而且只有20万人投票。德州规定得票不过半要runoff，1月31日的runoff只有9万人投票，注册选民的7%！Turnout太低，民主党候选人获胜。要么Trump怎么发帖鼓励共和党选民出来投票。可能是红区，都大意了。这个席位春天有党内primary，今年11月中期选举时还要再投票。到时德州州长，参议员，众议员，州政府各种位置都要上选票，不出意外共和党会拿回来。共和党选民有工作有家庭，而且不搞邮寄选票，和民主党mass mail-in ballots相比，trunout特别重要。共和党也要调整campain strategy。
