When Trump’s executive order goes into effect on August 29, most goods shipped internationally will be subject to the tariffs of the country of origin. Those duties will be about $80 per item for a country with a tariff rate less than 16 per cent, $160 per item for a country of a tariff rate between 16 per cent and 25 per cent, $200 per item for a country with a tariff rate above 25 per cent.
The samples were delivered yesterday. Did you get a chance to see the sample ? Please let me know if the sample looks ok.
I am very sorry for the delay. The sample was shipped on July 21 and arrived at Atlanta on July 23. Then it was put on hold for tariff payment until Aug 1. (see attached tracking info.) We did not know that President Trump's executive order of removing "de minimis" tariff exemption (which previously allowed goods valued at $800 or less to enter the U.S. duty-free) would affect Fedex and DHL sample shipment. DHL probably contacted you to collect tariff and it most likely looked like a scam to you. Eventually DHL China office contacted us and told us to contact DHL in US to pay tariff. I paid the $21 tariff and DHL released the sample from "hold".
