美国可以改名叫“下雪合众国”了，12日，美国五十个州里面，有49个地面上都有积雪，唯一还没有下雪的是夏威夷。 受异常气候影响，星期五(12日)破晓的时候，美国本土超过三分之二的土地上，覆盖了白雪。天亮之后，和飓风比较熟、对白雪非常陌生的佛罗里达也下雪了。
蔼蔼白雪星期五瘫痪、也乐坏了美国南方，忙碌的亚特兰大机场，班机严重误点，陆上交通大乱，不过南密西西比大学校园内，大伙儿打雪仗打得不亦乐乎。
在50个州里面，有49个都被白雪攻陷之后，气象迷开始期待夏威夷是不是也会上演白色奇迹，结果奇迹没有发生。夏威夷最高峰名叫白山，海拔4206米，那儿是夏威夷最有可能下雪的地方，不过到星期五为止，白山还没有白头。
