自2007年开始，日本每年通过网络评选“女性最向往的面容”，今年被选出的第一名是36岁的松岛菜菜子。据日本媒体报道，第3届“日本女性最向往的面容”调查结果公布，松岛菜菜子和北川景子分获了冠亚军。

本届参与投票的女性，对松岛菜菜子投以了毫不吝啬的称赞，“她的脸部给人一种很有气质的优雅感觉，显得非常漂亮”、“有种与她年龄相称的女人味，给人感觉很清爽”等等。根据投票结果显示，已经36岁的松岛菜菜子受到了各年龄层女性的压倒性支持。虽然经历结婚生产，但依然亮丽动人，安逸纯净的气质让人觉得很舒服。

获得该奖项第二名的是新生代的女星，今年23岁的北川景子。她因端正的美貌而受到大家的关注。虽然北川景子才20岁出头但很多30、40岁的女性把票投给了她。

第三位的是去年主演大河剧《笃姬》的宫崎葵。宫崎葵连续3届评选均入围前三。07年排在第3位，去年又跃升第2位。有女生评论她说“如果可以长得那么可爱，那人生绝对是无往不利的！”

获得第四名和第五名的分别是绫濑遥和柴崎幸。

该评选自2007年开始，第一届评选冠军是泽尻绘里香和新垣结衣，第二届冠军是柴崎幸。
