　　美国养狗人俱乐部成立于1884年，现在是世界上最大的纯种狗的认证机构，曾经确立了157种狗的品种标准。在2007年度的评选中，拉布拉多寻回犬仍然排在第一位，这也是它连续17年雄居榜首。

　　不过这次斗牛犬的意外杀出更让人感到意外，“这是斗牛犬在1935年后首次上榜，”俱乐部的发言人说，“斗牛犬的爱好者非常广泛，因为它非常的温顺，无论在大型的豪宅还是小型的居所它都能适应，它是一种适合所有家庭的宠物。”美国养狗人俱乐部称并不为斗牛犬从157类狗种中脱颖而出感到惊奇。

　　据悉，斗牛犬在1886年就被美国养狗人俱乐部认证——仅仅在该机构成立的2年后。斗牛犬有着松软的皮肤以及下垂的下巴，憨态可掬，广受人们喜爱。在1915年它曾高居第5的位置，之后受欢迎程度一直下滑，在1973年最低曾排在第41名，不过之后排名逐渐回升，直到今年重新回到前十。鱼落
