想必大家都知道，张曼玉在《花样年华》中的前后一共换了23件旗袍。一名冷香端凝的女子，从头到尾被23件花团锦簇的旗袍密密实实地包裹着，令人眩目的旗袍使她时而忧郁，时而雍容，时而悲伤，时而大度，每一件旗袍都代表着女主角的心情，张曼玉不停的换旗袍，换不掉的是身上女人柔美成熟的气息。这绝对是影片的一个大亮点。
60年代女子固然不会除了旗袍没有别种选择，不过像《花样年华》的苏丽珍是已婚的职业妇女，穿着既要光鲜亮眼，又要得体大方，旗袍似乎是恰如其分的首选。

汤唯在《色|戒》中的27套旗袍
有心人仔细计算过，汤唯在《色|戒》里前前后后共换了27件旗袍，让人看得叹为观止，已打破当年《花样年华》中张曼玉换了23件旗袍的纪录。有评论说，王家卫《花样年华》里的旗袍符合他颓废浪漫的格调，而李安在《色|戒》中不是故意玩气氛，而是透过旗袍的样式与质料，点出女主角汤唯所面对环境的改变。

开衩：1932年以后，旗袍的流行款式开始下摆变长，使得开衩成为必要。从这个时候开始，旗袍从低衩或无衩变成高衩。上海当红明星顾梅君当年常穿高衩旗袍出入交际场，衩高过膝甚至及臀，蔚然流行。《色，戒》中王佳芝的旗袍大多开衩至臀，既符合其贵妇身份，也微含挑逗之意。

无袖：1937年之后，主流旗袍的袖长缩至肩下两三寸，几乎没有袖子，被称为旗袍史无前例的特色。由于无袖，所以王佳芝给易先生唱《天涯歌女》时，腋毛若隐若现，成为电影话题之一。李安称，那个年代上海滩淑女，原本就是不刮腋毛。

紧身：1940年代的旗袍随着两边开衩升高，腰身紧绷，女性的曲线美显露无遗。王佳芝为了色诱易先生，自然要穿紧身性感的款式，尤其是她带易先生做西装时，自己让裁缝改小的那身旗袍，更是精致玲珑，勒得她不敢喘气。一旁的易先生开始上钩，在她准备脱下旗袍时终于发号施令“穿着！”

布料：当时穿的旗袍，夏季多选择纯棉印花细布、绸缎、麻纱、提花布等薄型织品。王佳芝的旗袍在香港时期略显透薄，与其海洋性亚热带气候相合，回到上海则花样百出。与牡丹、荷花、龙凤、鸳鸯等有传统寓意的花纹不同的是，王佳芝旗袍上的花纹多为唐草、腊梅、玫瑰、云纹、几何等图案，显出素雅。
