2004年启动的奥运礼仪之星选拔活动，架构了一个为北京服务、为筹办2008奥运会添色的文化平台。因为选拔出来的优秀人才将成为奥运志愿者，所以与以往选拔模特不同，这个活动分为T型形体表现、语言表达、奥运知识问答、才艺表演、场外综合素质考核等多个方面，力求选出外形与内在都美的青年。 07年的奥运礼仪之星选拔大赛已经落幕，网上流传着选拔现场的照片。有网友指出，最后选出来的基本都是各高校的校花级人物。不管这个消息是否属实，不管最后获选的帅哥美女来自何处，相信他们都会为08奥运增光添彩，向世界展示中国青年男女健康的形象
