　　影片在涿州影视基地进行室内布景，包括宏伟的大殿、民居和拥有凉亭曲桥假山池塘的豪华庭院。从目前完成的情况看，剧组不惜花费巨资，力求再现三国时期的居住风貌，置身摄制场景中，仿佛回到2000年前，家具装饰更是“古意盎然”。

　　片名《赤壁》，水战自然是片中的重头戏。剧组把水战场景设在了安格庄水库，远远就能看到两座十几米高的巨大箭楼矗立在寨前码头上。据说制作这座水寨耗时半年，全部由人工搭建，站在寨中最高的楼台上放眼望去，是群山怀抱下碧波荡漾的水面。现在还不能确定片中的赤壁之战是否在此地拍摄完成。

　　在水寨旁停靠着几艘制作中的战船，从外观上看战船有大有小，但全部为手工全木结构。据说“草船借箭”一场戏就将使用这几件道具，而在之后的水战中，这些耗资不菲的战船也将随着一场大火付之一炬。
