美国伊利诺伊州西北大学医学院助教、外科医生卡拉·皮尤提出了一个新鲜的解决办法，即将部分人造解剖模型与电脑模型相结合，通过虚拟程序与现实模型的双重教学，让学生们在实验课上轻松学习如何检查“病人”生殖器、乳房及直肠等器官。目前，皮尤拥有此项技术的专利。
